This critical edition of The Mahabharata includes excerpts from Sabha Parva and Udyoga Parva ( Dicing and Sequel to the Dicing and The Temptation of Karna). J A B van Buitenen's authoritative translation of the standardized Sukthankar edition has been used for the text. An introduction to the book opens some pertinent scholarly questions which present excerpts of the epic must be read through. Essays and excerpts from the work of established scholars are included to familiarize the reader with the debates within and around the Mahabharata.
