Rethinking Colonialism

" Colonialism has been regarded as one of the most important politico-cultural phenomenon which will remain central in the history of mankind. Africa along with Asia and Latin America continue to experience this phenomena produced by their colonial past. AfriCan literature in English, a product of colonialism, grapples with colonialism and its aftermath in a manner radically different from other literatures. The fictions of Chinua Achebe and Ngugi Wa Thiong'o, two prominent African writers writing in English, have penetrated deeply into the traumatic effects of colonialism vis-à-vis Africa and its people. Their fictions underline a significant intervention in the debates and discourses on colonialism. This book attempts to explore how the fictions of Achebe and Ngugi have produced powerful understanding of the disturbing realities of Contemporary Africa in the aftermath of 'colonialism.'
